Grzegorz Sęk joined the Group of Optical Spectroscopy of Nanostructures in 1995. Since then he has been involved in optical studies of novel semiconductor nanostructures as quantum dots, quantum dashes, quantum rods, and new semiconducting materials for photonic, electronic and optoelectronic applications. He received his PhD in Physics from Wroclaw University of Technology in 2001, and habilitation (post-doctoral) degree in 2010. His current research interest concerns the physics and spectroscopy of low-dimensional structures, quantum electrodynamics in solid state systems, quantum light sources, exciton-polarions, etc. with respect to nanophotonic applications. Part of his interest concerns novel materials and heterostructures for mid-infrared lasers and their application in optical gas sensing. He is an author or co-author of more than 180 scientific publications in high rank international journals as Nature, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B and Applied Physics Letters. They have been cited almost 2000 times.
